Jovial atmosphere as parties do battle for control of Ward 7

The results are expected at around midnight or in the early hours of Thursday

There is a camaraderie spirit between political parties fighting for control of Glencoe’s Ward 7. All parties have brought out their big guns to encourage voters to go to the polls.

There are around 3521 voters registered in the ward, split among the three voting stations: Glencoe Town Hall, Glenridge and Thelaphi.

Although there have been allegations of Government officials handing out SASSA cards in a bid to persuade voters to support the ruling party in Thelaphi, the atmosphere at the other two stations appears jovial.
