Teenager given the chance to shine on a global stage

17-year-old Given Madlala is a young girl from Ladysmith, who has made her hometown proud by competing in the Miss Teen Globe South Africa modelling competition recently, the competition took place in Philippines.

To her credit, she won the ‘Best in Talent-second runner-up’ award.

“It was my first time going abroad so the feeling was overwhelming and scary.

However the people there showed me with nothing but love, wherever I went, I was showered with hugs, so it was a wonderful experience and I am very proud of myself.

I want to start a non-profitable organisation that will sponsor school children with uniforms and sanitary pads because I want to give back to the community,” said Given.
