During assembly, learners delivered speeches and poems on Nelson Mandela and Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
They enthusiastically performed a Zulu dance, as well as an Indian and Western dance, for their fellow classmates.
Although the day was observed on May 25, learners put their best foot forward to entertain and inform the school of the happenings of May 25 in 1963.
“This was a very exciting celebration. Thanks to the principal and Riverdale staff for their help in the preparations,” said Mrs Gamede.
