Dundee July preparation gallops onward

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sports and Recreation is planning major improvements for this year's event, including infrastructure upgrades and tighter security.

Ahead of this year’s Dundee July Rural Horse Riding and Music Festival Event, a preparatory meeting was held yesterday at The Lapha Conference Room.

During this meeting, the planning committee discussed in detail the implementation scheme for this prestigious annual event. The event takes place on July 20 at the Horse Racing Track, and will feature more than 250 horses and riders, across the various categories.

Preceding the event will be the annual Dundee July exhibitions, which will be held outside Endumeni Municipality on July 18. A street carnival is scheduled for 12pm (noon) on July 19.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sports and Recreation is planning major improvements for this year’s event. These include improving of infrastructure at the track, a separate entertainment area from the race stage and beefed up security and traffic control.

Endumeni Municipality, due to being under administration and financial distress, has had to cut its contribution to the event by around R350 000
