Watch: ICU patient airlifted to Durban from hospital in Ladysmith
The patient was accompanied by paramedics and also a doctor
An ICU patient was airlifted from La Verna Lenmed Private Hospital on Friday (May 24).
The patient was an elderly man who had to be rushed to a hospital in Durban.
A helicopter landed on the Ladysmith High School (LHS) sports field and waited for the patient to arrive. The man was transported from La Verna by private ambulance and then put into the helicopter to be taken to Durban.
The patient was accompanied on the flight by paramedics and also a doctor.

A large crowd gathered outside the school premises to watch the helicopter fly off.
