Hi Tea hosted to raise awareness about lupus

The guest speakers were Dr Zahir Sardiwalla and Dr HG Magan

The I Singh Lupus Foundation hosted a Hi Tea function on Saturday (May 11) at Mount View Lodge.

The aim of this function was to spread awareness and to educate people about Lupus.

Ishara Singh, who was the organiser, is also a lupus survivor and living testimony to the fact that this illness can be managed well. “I truly feel like I have been given a second chance at life through God’s will and can now make a difference in the lives of lupus warriors and supporters. Being medically boarded has enabled me to hold monthly support groups and get-togethers through my own initiative,” said Ishara.

The guest speakers, Dr Zahir Sardiwalla and Dr HG Magan, went into detail in explaining more about  lupus.

Department of Health representatives from KZN were also present, as well as the health fraternity, Provincial Hospital, Lenmed and Essen.
