Elections 2019 – The results are in for AbaQulusi

With just short of fifty parties running in the national elections for 2019, these were the top six contenders for AbaQulusi.

The 2019 national elections have come and gone and the votes have been counted.

The Independent Electoral Commission has released the results for AbaQulusi, revealing that the African National Congress (ANC), with 7,423 votes has clinched 41,40% of local votes. With 6,224 votes, the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) took 34,71%.

The Democratic Alliance (DA), with 1,413 votes (7,88%) is followed closely by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) who managed to gain 1,213 votes (6,77%).

The only other parties exceeding double figures in the voting process were the National Freedom Party (NFP) with 792 (4,42%) and the Vryheidsfront Plus with 304 (1,70%).

With just short of fifty parties running in the national elections for 2019, these were the top six contenders for AbaQulusi.

The other 42 political parties made up the remaining 825 votes between them.

Total votes cast: 18,194

Spoilt votes: 273

Total valid votes: 17,930
