Relief as work starts to repair Biggar Street North, Glencoe

There is only one lane open at the moment and motorists are urged to approach the route with caution.

It has been described as the worst road in Endumeni. After years of complaints from irate motorists, work has finally begun to repair Biggar Street North in Glencoe.

The badly rutted road is the main entrance and exit from Glencoe, passed the Glencoe Prison.  For several years, previous Ward 7 Councillor, Dr Sandy Bedassi, and local businessmen in the town petitioned the authorities to fix the road.

The countless potholes forced motorists to swerve around on the road which caused more road safety issues.

The road further deteriorated when traffic was diverted on the route when repairs were done to the Dundee/Glencoe earlier this year.

However, motorists will be glad to know that workmen are currently rehabilitating the road. There is only one lane open at the moment and motorists are urged to approach the route with caution.
