Live ammunition and drugs confiscated

Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube, discusses recent operations.

The SAPS Amajuba Cluster shared its successes from the oSizweni and Newcastle policing precincts, after two suspects, a male and a female, were arrested for being in possession of two heroine tablets and 505 grams of dagga.

In another incident two males were arrested by Amajuba Cluster Task Team in oSizweni for illegal possession of 143 Mandrax tablets, and 17 rounds of live ammunition.

Spokesperson for Newcastle SAPS, Captain Jabulani Ncube encourages residents to join community policing forums as an effective way of ensuring community safety.

“Sector 5 CPF Sub-Forum Johan Pieters has in the past week, emphasised the notion of ‘Knowing your neighbour’, during a community meeting. I concur and suggest residents of our policing precinct to be security conscious by attending community meetings, where the CPF Sub-Forums and SAPS discuss the crime situations in our various policing precincts.”

Capt Ncube has provided his contact number should residents require information and assistance. “The community is at liberty to contact me on 082 566 7186,” he added.
