Woman found dead near Winterton – police seek clues

A woman believed to be about 25-years-old was found dead on the roadside

The lifeless body of a woman was found on the roadside between Winterton and Emmaus on March 2. Since then police have been trying to piece together information regarding her identity as well as the cause of the death and are requesting assistance from the public.

Warrant Officer Melusi Shabalala from the Winterton Detective Service explains that the woman is about 25-years-old, has short braided hair and she was wearing a black tracksuit pants and a yellow T-shirt when her body was found.

“She was found on the road close to Honiball Farm at about 8.30pm. It seems as if she was either hit by a vehicle or her body was dumped there,” said W/O Shabalala.

The woman has sustained severe head injuries and had several bruises on her body.
