Arrogant officers assault centre manager

Officers refuse to adhere to the law and assault manager in the process

“We are entitled to do what we want.”

Those were the words uttered by police officers from Ulundi who earlier assaulted Dundee Boulevard Centre Manager, Trudy Van Wyk Franz.

The officers were parked in an illegal parking bay at the centre and when approached by the manager and staff, became aggressive.

Realising their vehicle would be clamped, they drove into Trudy, as she waited for security to return with a clamp.

Officers started pushing her around and also elbowed her in the ribs when she refused to move out of the way for their vehicle.

They told her that as police, they were entitled to do what they wanted and be where they wanted.

They also phoned the Dundee Police Station, telling them not to report to the centre, despite the numerous calls made to the police.

Dundee Police did not attend to the scene.
