Ladysmith Gazette hosts its very own Amazing Race in Ladysmith #TeamBuilding

Lots of bonding was done as the teams worked out the clues and carried out various challenges along the way

Ladysmith Gazette staff decided to unwind and move away from their desks on Wednesday afternoon last week (March 20), having terrific fun as part of a team-building project.

The team held their very own ‘Amazing Race’ in town.

As an inaugural event, held for the very first time by the Ladysmith branch, no one quite knew what to expect. It turned out to be a great time, with staff members rushing from business to business to find hidden clues to direct them to yet another destination.

Some of the destinations required driving in a car, while others were close by and saw everyone hurtling down Murchison Street on their own two feet, getting hot and sweaty in the process.

The teams of four or five were randomly assigned so that members of the various departments (advertising, editorial and accounts) got to bond with each other while putting their heads together and having fun. Lots of bonding was done as the teams worked out the clues and carried out various (and sometimes hilarious) challenges along the way.

After all the teams were done, gifts were handed to the winners back at the Gazette offices, as well as tokens of appreciation to all the staff who participated.

After the ‘race’, that was pretty amazing after all, the dynamic team gathered for a lovely braai at Naunton’s Guest House, where yet more team-building activities were held.

A special thank you to all the businesses that supported the project.
