Prior to this, the Estcourt News published two articles, with a local questioning why non-operational municipal vehicles are parked at the fire station.

The burning question on everyone’s lips is ‘how capable is the local fire department to service the town?’

Residents have taken to various social media platforms to express their disappointment and concern regarding the fire department.

The municipality was requested to respond to these concerns on three separate occasions; however at the time of this post none was received.

Locals continue to wait on the municipality to justify why vehicles, not having any relation to fire fighting, are being kept at the fire station as well as if they are capable of fighting and responding to fires.
