Chaos outside of Newcastle mayor’s court appearance
Tensions were high outside the Madadeni Magistrates Court this morning.
In a tug of war between 2 camps within the ANC, the divided party members have gathered outside the Madadeni Magistrate Court, singing and chanting for the release of newly selected Newcastle Municipality Mayor, Cllr Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba.
Mahlaba has been alleged to be linked to the murder of Wandile Ngobeni, a former ANC Youth League official.
ANCYL were singing for the mayor to be prosecuted, while the ANC says no one should be arrested until proven guilty.
