Local business broken into 5 times in 3 days

Staff now work in fear and always have their security gates locked, as they don't know when the next break-in will take place

A local business in Poort Road has fallen victim to 5 break-ins in just 3 days.

Speaking to a worker at the business, she says that on Saturday (March 16) at around 2.30pm, their alarm system showed that someone had gotten into the building.

The suspects broke a window to gain access, but when security company officers arrived at the scene, they did not find anyone.

Later the same day, the alarm was triggered yet again, with burglars stealing a hifi, a steamer and a gazebo.

The following day (Sunday, March 17), the very same thing happened during the afternoon… The alarm went off, but no suspects were apprehended.

The alarm inside the building went off yet again on Monday morning (March 18), but again there was no sign of any suspects when staff arrived.

Later on Monday morning, staff saw a man trying to jump over the back wall. They gave chase and apprehended the suspect. However, police said they could not arrest the man because he was not in the premises.
