The Estcourt News has just been informed that Clover’s management teams are currently in a meeting.

Clover Factory on fire captured from a neighbouring farm.

It is believed that the fire started on the fifth floor of the production area and that only three departments are still standing.

The local Inkosi Langalibale Municipality has come under fire after the fire department failed to respond to the fire.

“No fire truck was in working condition to assist, what do we pay rates and taxes for? Tomorrow homes can be on fire and still then there will be no fire engine to respond,” exclaimed a furious Louise Labuschagne, wife of one of the factory workers at Clover.

The municipality has been asked to respond.

Help was received from Okhahlamba Fire Department and Emergency Service, Local Traffic Department, Evowood and N3TC.
