UPDATE: Tireless search for man missing in Weenen continues with renewed energy

The search for the man has entered its tenth day

Community members from Weenen have pitched in to assist police in finding a man who was swept away by high waters in the Mngwenya area more than a week ago.

Various police search and rescue units have been part of the search, which has entered its tenth day.

The man’s vehicle was swept away at a low lying bridge on February 25. His vehicle was recovered a day later.

“SAPS K9 Search and Rescue Unit officers as well as community members from Weenen continued with the search for the missing man. He was not located,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan this morning (March 7).

He added that another air search will be conducted today.
