One shot dead in drive-by shooting
Investigations are continuing at this stage
It is not yet clear what was behind the fatal shooting of a person on Shabalala Street, Sibongile, late last night.
Police said a patrol van was alerted to the shooting by a woman at about 11.15pm. It was said that a white vehicle had approached the witness and several others and several shots were fired.
The body of a person was found face down the scene. There were at least three bullet wounds, police confirmed. They did not identify the gender or name of the victim. At least two others were taken to hospital with injuries.
No other details are available at this stage.
