Tovasize / Donafin kingpin arrested in Vryheid this afternoon

Mr Westcott’s pension fund tracing company Tovasize, which he initially ran as Donafin, has been under investigation by the Hawks since June last year.

The company has received wide spread media attention after staff and clients started coming forward, saying that none of the beneficiaries were receiving the money that was promised to them, and never would.

Hawks commander, Col S Msibi confirmed that Mr Westcott was arrested this afternoon and will be held at the Vryheid holding cells over the weekend.

He is expected to make his first court appearance at the Vryheid Magistrate’s court either on Monday or Tuesday, when he will be officially charged with fraud.

Col Msibi has already indicated that he intends to oppose bail.

Aggrieved client of Donafin, Mkhanyiseli Mhlongo, said he was very excited that that Sean has finally been arrested. “I know we won’t get out money back,” said Mr Mhlongo, “but I am so happy that we are finally seeing justice. I certainly hope that more arrests will follow as Sean Westcott did not act alone. He had people helping him who must also answer for their actions.”

Mr Mhlongo further indicated that a group of Donafin and Tovasize clients intended to protest outside the court in support of Col Msibi opposition to bail.
