Winston is well known on the golf course, where he is known as Churchill, and all know him to be the 'perfect gentleman'.
Winston and Lindumusa Maphanga met back in 1980 and married six months into their relationship. They met while Winston was still working at the Pomeroy Correctional Services, as an assistant head of the prison, while Lindumusa was still teaching at Endumeni Primary School. They have four children together and four grandchildren

Mrs Maphanga said there are no secrets to having a long-lasting marriage; she and her husband have been taking it one day at a time. “The golden rule is to never go to bed angry at each other. Be supportive at all times and listen to one another.”
