Megan exchanges sweltering summer for chilly Europe

A keen ballet dancer, Megan also enjoys soccer, reading, walking and singing

While Dundee swelters in the hot, dry summer, 18-year-old Megan Peddie is wrapped up warmly against the chilly European winter.

Megan, who last year matriculated at Dundee High, is experiencing something few of her age will get to undertake – a year away from home as a Dundee Rotary Club exchange student.

Megan left in January for Libramont-Chevigny in the Walloon municipality of Belgium in the province of Luxembourg.
She has already sent back home photos of the snowy landscape. Megan is the daughter of Anita and Graham and is keen to make use of her 12-month once-in-a-lifetime experience by broadening her horizons and learning as much as possible while in Europe.

A keen ballet dancer, Megan also enjoys soccer, reading, walking and singing. She spent her primary school years at Ichthus Christian School before moving on to Dundee High.

When the Rotary Club advertised for potential exchange students, Megan jumped in and after going through several interviews and a selection processes, was chosen to go and represent the Club, town and her country in Belgium.

We will be hearing more of Megan’s experiences in Europe throughout the year.
