Okhahlamba Municipality awarded for clean audit

The municipality also received three prestigious awards from the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta)

The Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA) recently  announced that Okhahlamba Local Municipality received a clean-audit finding for the 2017/2018 financial year.

This is the fourth back to back clean audit opinion that the municipality has received, and the fifth within a six-year period.

The municipality also received three prestigious awards from the Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) at the Municipal Excellence Awards, which took place last Thursday night at the Greyville Racecourse in Durban.

The awards that the municipality received were Clean Audit Municipality in the 2016/17 financial year, Consistent Good Performing Municipality and Best Performing Medium to Large Municipality.

Earlier this year the municipality received two silver accolades at the Premier’s Excellence Awards for having the Second-Best Municipal Manager in the province and for being the Second-Best Performing Municipality in the province.

The municipality would like to express its sincere gratitude to former Municipal Manager Siza Sibande, Councillor Mlungisi Ndlangisa, as well as to the council, Acting Municipal Manager Ms Yali Joyi, directors, entire staff complement and the community for their commitment and dedication to ensuring the success of the municipality.
