MEC declares war on crime

MEC Kaunda emphasised that crime must be reported

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Safety & Community Liaison TM Kaunda was recently at the Tsakane Community Hall with the aim of launching a Community Safety Forum.

The MEC was accompanied by uThukela District Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko, Deputy Mayor NW Sibiya, Speaker PG Strydom, Alfred Duma Speaker T Ngubane, local councillors, Inkosi NSW Sithole, government departments and relevant stakeholders.

Several issues to do with criminal activities were raised, and ways and means to prevent crime were devised.

MEC Kaunda emphasised that crime must be reported, and he assured the community that law enforcement agencies will make sure that the safety of communities at large is prioritised in order to protect all South Africans.

He also said that to prevent crime, we need to raise our children and build our families with love so that this can spread to our neighbours and throughout the country as well.

The message to all who commit crimes was that it is up to them to choose the correct way of living, because the government will not tolerate crime.

The structure was then formally launched and introduced to the community.
