A national wreath-laying ceremony is currently underway at Boekenhoutkloof Traffic College in Pretoria to honour traffic officers who have died in the line of duty.

As well as honouring fallen officers, today (November 2) is also a day on which the nation pays homage to their families and remaining colleagues.

About 1000 people are at the event, which is being held by the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).

One of the officers to be honoured at this ceremony is Ladysmith RTI Officer Thokazani Giainani Cele.

His wife was able to be a part of the ceremony.
