Sarel Cilliers goes dramatic
On display was incredible talent that had many members of the audience gasp with amazement. It was a hilarious tale of two men and the drama of living with three wives, a gorgeous woman arriving in the village from the city, dealing with life in rural areas and having to pick a wife with a lot of interference and opinions from everyone.
Donderdagaand was ‘n aand van sing en dans, pure talent en uit-die-maag-uit-lag oonblikke vir die gehoor by die kultuuraand.
The titles of the plays were: Die Towenaar van Ondersteboland, Mbazia: the not so Great (English) and Kunje nje kungenxa yomkhaba kabaza! (Zulu play)
The evening started with a wonderful performance by Mr Dube’s Harmony Voices choir, only accompanied by a drum, that left everyone with goosebumps and lifted their spirits. All worries and weariness of the preceding days disappeared in seconds.
Tweede op die program het was die Towenaar van Ondersteboland waar Dorothy beland het nadat ‘n tornado haar weggewaai het. Haar avonture saam met die blik houtkapper, lafhartige leeu en die voëlverskrikker het almal nogal vermaak en Nicole Johnson het ‘n uitstekende vertolking van ‘n bose heks gegee!

The English play was a brilliant contemporary interpretation of Macbeth, where the hero meets up with three witches who predict that he would be king and from there all goes downhill in a rather entertaining manner. It was a dark comedy, surprising everyone who is familiar with the story of Macbeth and wowing those who are not so familiar with it.

Sarel Cilliers Action Cricket
On Wednesday night the Sarel Cilliers action cricket team played against a strong team called Nanos Boyz. The Sarel Cilliers team narrowly lost in the final skins and fought bravely until the final delivery. Zandre and Juandré excelled with the bat, scoring 57 in their 4 overs, while Ruan was the pick of the bowlers.
On Friday night, in the mixed pairs action cricket, educator, Miss Tuting made her debut against a formidable Smashes who were on rampant form. Ruan and Alex Cason were the pick of the bowlers, while all batting pairs gave their best and gained tons of experience. The school is looking forward to the next match eagerly.
