Creche will be a boon to new mothers in rural area

Mayor Phakathi thanked the coal mines for all they have done for the community and the Dannhauser Municipality and the community for their support.

The opening of Khulani Creche in the rural area near Dannhauser will go a long way in assisting mothers with childcare, while they are working.
“The crèche starts from Infant and progresses to the senior phase,” said Dannhauser Mayor, Jabu Phakathi, at the opening of the crèche at Milford farm. The new crèche became a reality through Zinoju Coal and Buffalo Coal’s social and labour commitment in the area, in conjunction with the Dannhauser Municipality, the Department of Social Development, Dannhauser Community Mining Forum, and the Flint Tribal Court.
In his address at the official opening, Kevern Mattison, Buffalo Coal general manager, said the crèche was proof of the positive relationship between Zinoju Coal and the community.

There is no need for this community to be in mourning
“Thanks to the working together of all the stakeholders, this crèche is here to give children, from the community, quality education from an early age. These are the children that will be employed one day to give back to the community like, if there is a shortage of water and electricity, they will intervene,” Mr Mattison said.
Mr Mattison hailed the expertise shown by the Dannhauser Municipality in monitoring the project.
