Armed men pull off another cash heist

Similar tactics to last Monday's heist...

Another cash heist has been reported in the area. A heavily armed group of men bombed a G4S armoured vehicle after opening fire on the guards, using AK47 rifles and other firearms on the Pomeroy/Tugela Ferry road this evening.

The style of the attack was similar to the tactics used last Monday evening’s heist on the Nquthu road. First reports said no injuries had been reported in the last heist but that the gang had made their getaway with cash boxes containing an undisclosed sum of money.

Cash heists have spiked around the country this year with the latest national crime statistics indicating that Mondays and Tuesdays are the ‘most likely days heists are to occur’.
