Perfect golfers Ace for Walter

The following Saturday is the S.P.C.A. sponsored golf day, a 4 B.B.B.S. competition with great prizes up for grabs, so players are requested to contact The Pro Shop to book their times.

Nine golfers participated in last Friday’s “Chicken Run” competition at Dundee C.C and the highlight of the afternoon went to Walter Du Plessis who achieved his second hole-in-one when holing out his tee shot on the par three 16th hole.
The competition was a closely contested affair with three players scoring 22 individual points which saw Wessel Odendaal taking first place on a count out with Dave Donaldson and Barry Sandy finishing second and third respectively. Saturday’s club competition was played in the combined stableford format and the honours went to Rob Streak and Dolly Bradbury beating John Zulu and his partner Cyril Mkhwananzi on a count after both pairings scored 77 points.
Gene Robson and Henk Booysen both recorded a 2 Club on the 12th hole while there were three players who picked up a little extra cash after winning the Jackpot, and they were Rob Streak, Mandla Mthethwa and Danie Von Molendorff.
Golfers can look forward to competing for some great prizes over the next two weekends, as this coming weekend sees The Battery Centre’s two sponsored days, Saturday, September 22 will be a 4 B.B.B.S. competition, and then again on Monday September 24, the Public Holiday, a combined stableford competition.
Monday being National Braai Day, players are urged to bring their family and enjoy a braai at the Club.

After two rounds of Dave’s Wednesday summer competition, the jackpot is growing rapidly so come and enjoy the regular Wednesday golfers from 1pm and stand a chance of winning some extra cash.
Back by popular demand is the Saturday evening braai at the club, so members and their families are reminded to bring their own meat and come enjoy socializing around the braai fires after golf.
