PREVIEW: Hearts of gold cook up a storm for charity

Members of the homeless community could come in off the street and sit down to lunch at a dining table decorated with oranges and apples.

The Farmers Hall was a hive of activity last Wednesday, as the delicious aroma of the Big Soup Pot initiative attracting many hungry people.

Colleen Hawrthorne, Gaynor van Heerden, Struan Wade, Isabel Abbott, Jaqueline Lach, Nicolene Maré, Sonja Booysen and Bernice Liebenberg.

Resembling master chefs with smartly embroidered Pam Golding aprons, the industrious ladies behind the soup counter warmly welcomed people to the soup kitchen, which was primarily sponsored by DHM Manufacturers and spearheaded by Pam Golding Properties.
