While conducting an Intelligence Driven Operation in oSizweni, members of the Newcastle Cluster Task Team and oSizweni Crime Prevention Unit, a total of ten suspects were arrested for drug-related crimes.

The said members were following up on information in the area, when they proceeded to two houses in Section F, where they recovered 12 full mandrax tablets, one half-mandrax tablet and a parcel of dry-loose dagga.
Thereafter, the members went to a house in Blaauwbosch, where they recovered three full mandrax tablets, one half-mandrax tablet and a quarter mandrax tablet.
Members then went on to patrol Section B, where they recovered one full mandrax tablet, before going to four more houses in Section A and B, where they recovered seven more full mandrax tablets and three half mandrax tablets.
All drugs recovered were estimated at a total street value of R60 000 and all ten suspects will appear in the madadeni Magistrate’s Court soon.
