Two VW Polos collided on the N11 on Monday afternoon (September 3) just outside Ladysmith.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown at this stage.
It is believed that one of the cars was trying to overtake when the incident took place.
One vehicle went down a small embankment, while the other stayed on the roadway.

Six people sustained slight to moderate injuries. They were treated and stabilised at the scene before being taken to hospital for further medical attention.
Both vehicles had to be towed away.
Traffic flow was obstructed until the scene was cleared, with RTI officers directing the flow of traffic.
