ASTRO-Quizzers reach the stars

Eleven staff members underwent first aid and firefighting training at the school.

Glencoe Primary School’s bright and talented ASTRO quiz team exceeded all expectations when they took part in the third and fourth round of a competition in Richards Bay on August 15. The team, comprising of Ayushi Dubree, Nikheil Kulkaparsad, Wakhiwe Ngobese, Kayla Muller, Gia Neerahoo and Muhammed Hoffese achieved a great victory of placing 7th in KwaZulu-Natal. A huge congratulations to Mr Strydom and his superstar ASTRO quiz team!
Keeping with cultural and academic happenings at our school, Conquesta kicked off on August 13. Conquesta is an olympiad styled competition that learners take part in, with their subject of choice, ranging from Bible studies, natural science, languages, math and more. The questions are all multiple choice and definitely challenge the learners.
All at the school are continuously striving to professionally develop their staff members and did so in the week of August 13-17. Eleven staff members underwent first aid and firefighting training at the school, with the aim of every staff member being first aid and firefighting competent in the next few years. The roles were reversed briefly for these teachers, as they became students and were the ones having to write tests for a change! Well done and thank you to all who took part.
