#NotInMyName – Men urged to play their role in society

Umzinyathi District men say NOT IN MY NAME... during men's month.

#Notinmyname. Over 100 men, and many women from Pomeroy, took to the streets last Wednesday as they embarked on a peaceful march from the Pomeroy Police Station to CJ Mthethwa Hall.

This was to mark Men’s Month – July – where men were urged to desist from abusing their partners, be a role model to their children and play an active role in family life in a bid to make South Africa better.

Nonhlanhla “Mroza” Buthelezi, a broadcaster from Ukhozi FM, said at the Pomeroy gathering that “our forefather’s homes wouldn’t be destroyed if men went back to ukushela (to pursue a woman). Young boys should learn from men how to behave accordingly.”
The gathering was addressed by the Msinga Mayor, BP Ngcobo, who urged men ‘to diligently play their role in society’.
