PREVIEW: Road degradation makes headlines once again

While the municipality has not yet responded, motorists and businesses are fuming at road degradation in their areas.

Lyell, Murchison, Voortrekker and Oldknow Streets are examples of Newcastle’s road degradation.

When will Newcastle’s troubled road system be restored to full function?

This is the question one motorists has asked, in reaction to continued reports of deteriorating roads from one end of Newcastle to the other.

Unfortunately, the municipality has avoided response.

The Newcastle Advertiser contacted the municipality at the end of last week, to question the state of certain damaged roads which have worsened in recent weeks.

To date, no reply has been forthcoming.
