UPDATE: Municipality halts Canna Avenue clean-up plan

Locals can look forward to a clean-up commencing as soon as the plant equipment has been serviced

Over the past weeks, the Estcourt News has been reporting on the illegal dumping that is creating an eye sore at the end of Canna Avenue in Forderville.

After complaints from residents, we asked through a media inquiry about when a thorough clean- up be expected.
Municipal Manager Mr Mkhize explained that the municipality is currently servicing all its plant equipment to ensure that they do not break down during the implementation of programmes.

He explained that this is the reason for the Canna Avenue clean-up being placed on hold.

Since the Canna Avenue clean-up requires the use of a TLB and tipper truck, it cannot be cleared at the moment.
