According to Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi, the municipality was very pleased to have Nedbank associated with it, as its new official banking service provider.
“We have changed the bank in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act, which states all services should be open to tender for various contracts. Nedbank was the best fit for our municipality at the time, and we are looking forward to working with them in the future,” he explained.
In a recent press statement, Edwin Naidu (Marketing and Communications for Nedbank), expressed his gratitude to the municipality for the opportunity, as well as to the residents of Newcastle for their patience.
“Nedbank Business Banking is proud to be appointed as the primary banking partner of Newcastle, the third-largest city in KwaZulu-Natal. This partnership, supported by Nedbank’s Whole-view Business Banking™ approach, will provide tailored business and financial solutions for the public sector in Newcastle, situated in the picturesque foothills of the Drakensberg, along the Ncandu River and one of the country’s main industrial centres,” he said.
Vika Ngcobo, Nedbank Public Sector Provincial Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, also expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Nedbank group, for Newcastle residents’ ongoing support through the years.
