Vryheid youth to star in musical on the life of Zulu king at National Arts Festival

The musical is based on the history behind the life of current ruling Zulu king, Zwelithini.

YOUNG people from the rural parts of AbaQulusi will be heading down to Grahamstown this month to perform the King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu Musical.

The story takes the audience back on a journey to 70 years ago when Magasela, a prophet from the Transvaal, delivered the news about a child that had been conceived and was to be the next king of the Zulu nation.

The musical was designed to give better insight into the Zulu culture, practices and principles.
