UPDATE: Refuse heaps grow in Canna Avenue

This cul-de-sac has fallen victim to illegal dumping as it is situated in a quiet area, across from vacant land

Although the problem of illegal dumping has been on-going for the past few years at the end of Canna Avenue, it seems to be worsening.

There is a noticeable increase in refuse bags containing litter, more building rubble is being heaped there, as well as discarded garden refuse.

An Estcourt News reporter has noticed on more than one occasion that the dumped material is set alight and left unattended, which is a dangerous situation in the dry winter months.

The flammable waste and long grass are not only causing a danger to the homeowners, their property and pets but it also poses an environmental and health risk to all who reside in the area.

This cul-de-sac has fallen victim to illegal dumping as it is situated in a quiet area, across from vacant land. The affected church members from Cornerstone Full Gospel Church refuse to ignore the eyesore and plead for a permanent solution. The local municipality has not yet responded to their concerns.
