Endumeni’s 2018/19 budget and IDP has been adopted

ANC did not participate in the adoption.

Endumeni’s municipal budget and Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for 2018/19 was finally adopted today by the Council.
Today’s meeting was a continuation of last Thursday’s meeting which disintegrated when the ANC contingent walked out, rendering the meeting inquorated.

.The ANC protested over Mayor Mbatha, who was then in custody, delegating his powers as an executive committee, Exco, to Dr Sandy Bedassi which resulted in the latter being voted in as an Acting Mayor.
After hours of deliberating the IDP and ‘the budget was adopted, even though the ANC caucus bluntly stated that they will not vote in the adoption of the budget as it’s not people driven.’
The IFP/DA/EFF co-governance held sway today as even though Mayor Richard Mbatha, now freshly out of custody, was rumoured to be attending he never did and, ANC Councillor Makhaba, was again sick.
Speaker Mbatha -Makhathini placed great emphasis on councillors attending Thursday’s meeting at the Moth Hall with their committee members.
She said: “It is your duty as councillors to go back to your ward committees and give feedback to your ward members about decisions taken at the council chamber as there is an outcry from ward members that there are councillors who don’t inform them of discussions and decisions taken by the municipality”.
