Mondlo residents set to work patching up potholes themselves

Ordinary residents have set to work to patch up some of the worst parts of the Mondlo roads.

Instead of sitting back and complaining about potholes in the area, some members of the Mondlo community have set out working on patching things up.

With a large pot of tar cooking over a wood fire, sleeves rolled up and their shovels in hand, Mr Ephraim Myeni, Mr Zacariah Thabede and Mr Alfred Phenyane have set to work to patch up some of the worst parts of the Mondlo roads.

The Vryheid Herald will be speaking to these informal pothole-repairers to find out what inspired the initiative.
