PREVIEW: Municipality seeks to establish financial misconduct disciplinary board

In an attempt to hold financial misconduct culprits accountable, the municipality seeks to establish a disciplinary board.

The municipality is in the process of establishing a Disciplinary Board for Financial Misconduct.

This came under discussion at a meeting of the Executive Committee (Exco) earlier this month.

Establishing this board is part of so-called consequence management.

Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi provided insight into this matter during the Exco meeting.

He said in the past, items noted by the Auditor General (AG) resulted in little to no action.

This was reportedly due to there being no platform to deal with these matters.
