Newcastle Municipality has confirmed the positions of MM and CFO are filled.
This is part of the municipality’s efforts to fill critical senior positions.
Top management hosted a media session last Thursday morning, to brief local reporters.
In this meeting, Mayor, Makhosini Nkosi confirmed the appointment of these key staff members.

“I would like to announce the gentlemen sitting next to me, the Municipal Manager [Errol Mswane] has been re-appointed for the next five years,” he said.
The second key post of Chief Financial Officer has been filled by newcomer, Bheki Hlongwa.
He boasts more than 15 years’ experience in the office of the Auditor General of South Africa.
Hlongwa is also well versed in conducting municipal audits.
“We pride ourselves that we can achieve something not achieved for the past four years.”
