Democratic Alliance PR Councillor LeRoy Gericke will be remembered at a memorial service taking place at the Estcourt Town Hall today.

Serving both the former Umtshezi Municipality and the now amalgamated Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, Mr Gericke was well-known for his fairness, asking probing questions to uncover truths, politeness as well as his fine sense of humour.

Mr Gericke passed away last Tuesday after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
