During this month, Fun February has been celebrated by teaching socially acceptable behaviour to the little ones at Edukidz. Fun February included discussions about love, caring, helping, friendship and kindness. This culminated on Valentine’s Day when several social opportunities were offered to put into practice what had been learnt.
Excitement had mounted over the few days prior to the annual Valentine’s Celebration, when the day’s events had been discussed with great enthusiasm and anticipation. The day eventually arrived and learners entered the school early in their red and white outfits while walking in a sea of hearts on the pathway to school.
Songs like ‘Be Kind And Loving’ and ‘I Love You’ were sung.
A disco saw teachers demonstrating dance styles and everyone simply having lots of fun. Art activities were undertaken by taking special care and pride in the masterpieces.
Working hard and playing hard was rewarded with special Valentine treats, and again opportunities to practice those special words of kindness.
Edukidz promotes a culture of respect, peace and kindness among its “family”, and celebrating Valentine’s Day certainly encouraged this all the way.
