Raising funds through a local beauty pageant

Lulamile Zondi, a young gem from Glencoe, saw the need to raise funds for underprivileged pupils and to give back to girls by donating sanitary towels to those in need.
She will be hosting a Mr and Mrs Endumeni beauty pageant on March 17 at the Moth Hall through her foundation, the Lulamile Zondi Foundation, that aims at doing charitable work.
She is looking for any kind of sponsorship as she will be raising funds through beauty pageants to help those in need. Lulamile is a full-time student at the University of Free State and she’s currently doing her third year in B Com of Arts.
Being a beauty queen herself she knows the importance of giving back to the community. She was previously crowned Miss Congeniality second princess in 2015 at the University of Free State, Qwa Qwa campus. Lulamile also won the first princess in Eastern Free State beauty pageant. “Modelling uplifts my spirits and what better way to use my status than by giving back to society by donating school uniforms and sanitary towels to young girls,” exclaimed Lulamile, “I just hope that we can get enough sponsorship as we are looking for cosmetics, funds, sanitary towels and prizes for our winners.”
Lulamile is also a finalist in Miss South Africa Junior and she hopes to influence the youth in a positive way and give them a platform and opportunity offered in the pageant world. “Being away from home has taught me a lot, I want to give the youth of Endumeni something to focus on rather than being distracted by negative things,” said Lulamile. She also thanked Jabu Production and Mrs Mchunu for all their hard work and assistance in this pageant.
Entry is free and the closing date for entries is February 16.
