A tough race for Vryheid MTB

Members of Vryheid MTB embarked on some really tough races with a lot of climb, that was quite technically challenging in places.

The Vryheid mountain bikers have been very active these last couple of weeks, riding in a very tough race in Paulpietersburg and then a very hot and even more difficult race in Barberton the weekend thereafter. Congratulations to Francis van Rensburg (winning the ladies 50km), Ernest Franzen (3rd mens 50km), Evy and Sandra Haywood, Riaan and Lize Swanepoel, Jabu Xulu, Morné Odendaal (newbie and excellent race), Pieter Muller and Leon de Villiers for completing the 50km. And congratulations to Mariska de Villiers and Marius van Eden (winner mens) for completing the very tough 35km as well and Stephan Groenewald for completing the 20km. Sorry guys if I have missed your name here. Everyone riding agreed it was a really tough race with a lot of climb and quite technically challenging in places.

Well done also to Evy and San, Riaan and Lize, Jabu, Ernest, Francis and Morné who went on to do the Barberton the next weekend. Most riders completing the 70km and Riaan completing the grueling 100km. A REAL toughie!! But I don’t know guys, judging by the pre-race pic that you sent us on the group, maybe there were other factors that made it even tougher?

Safe riding.
