PREVIEW: St Dominic’s awarded for academic excellence

Reaping the reward for academic excellence, St Dominic's Newcastle was honoured at a function at Emperors Palace this month.

St Dominic’s Newcastle has been honoured for academic excellence in 2017.

The school was awarded at a ceremony at Emperors Palace Resort in Johannesburg on January 13.

Here, St Doms was confirmed the top Curro IEB (Independent Examinations Board) school in the country.

This placed the school top of around 60 Curro institutions nationwide.

Executive Head of St Dominic’s, Bryn Thomas expressed pride at his school’s achievement.

“This is the first time we have received this award.”

2017 matriculants, Surav Anandhaw, Aadilah Jamaloodeen and Mominah Azeem received special mention.

These three all made the national top 10.

Overall, the St Dominic’s 2017 matrics reaped eight A aggregates.
