Colita recalls respect for elders

"Safety is the first step but old people must be visited by church members, community workers, social workers and good political leaders,"

Prince Raymond Trollip
CRL Commissioner

An early Christmas party, organised by Ward 10 Councillor Edith Lite, was held in Colita recently. Residents aged 60 and older were invited.

In our midst was Mrs Lina Jacobs who is 104-years-old.Guest speakers gave strong messages of support. The main objective is to restore respect for the elderly in our community, this is of great importance.

Our elders must be assisted in all their social concerns. The youth in the area must look out for all old people and report everything that they take note of.

Safety is the first step but old people must be visited by church members, community workers, social workers and good political leaders.

If you need God to extend your days on Earth, then respect the elders. This kind of awareness should be done in every community.

A database must be put together in order to manage assistance and prayers must be offered to old people at all times.
A great thank you to everyone who made the day possible. Let us make Colita a haven and use God’s skills to accomplish this.
