Constable Sandile Ngcobo runs to fitness victory

Constable Ngcobo was awarded a gold medal after he vanquished police officers from nine other provinces in a gruelling and testing challenge.

There is no running away from Constable Sandile Ngcobo of Public Order Policing Newcastle, according to his performance at the Functional Fitness Games recently held in Kimberly.

Constable Ngcobo was awarded a gold medal after he vanquished police officers from nine other provinces in a gruelling and testing challenge.

The Functional Fitness Games comprised more than 18 obstacles, where participants needed to exercise physical fitness, endurance and concentration.

“The competition is not easy at all, as there were several possible ways to sustain injuries if you are not physically and mentally fit,” explained Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube.

Ecstatic about the win, Constable Ngcobo thanked his commanders from POP Newcastle, as well as the commanders at Cluster and Provincial levels for allowing him to participate in the event.
