MediRite to offer FREE blood pressure and cholesterol testing in Newcastle
To make use of this free service, customers are urged to make an appointment at Checkers, Amajuba Mall MediRite pharmacy, where a friendly and qualified pharmacist will administer the blood pressure test.
In support of World Heart Day on September 29, MediRite pharmacies will be offering FREE blood pressure and cholesterol testing from September 23 to 29.
To make use of this free service, customers are urged to make an appointment at Checkers, Amajuba Mall MediRite pharmacy, where a friendly and qualified pharmacist will administer the blood pressure test.
“Cardiovascular disease is among the top three causes of death in sub-Saharan Africa; therefore it is important to protect your heart by having your blood pressure and cholesterol levels checked regularly. Both high blood pressure and high cholesterol have no major symptoms and the only way to know if you are at risk is to have yourself tested,” said Prof Liesl Zühlke, President of the South African Heart Association.
“High blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol are associated with an increased risk of heart disease. I would encourage all South Africans to make use of this excellent opportunity to have their blood pressure and cholesterol tested.”
The free blood pressure and cholesterol tests are available at 147 MediRite pharmacies conveniently located in Checkers and Shoprite supermarkets across South Africa.
